The epicenter of big mountain heli skiing: The Chugach Mountain Range, Alaska Proximity to Major International airport: 45 Minutes from Anchorage Surfing has pipeline, football has the Super Bowl, ski racing has kitzbühel and big mountain skiing has Alaska. There are a lot of amazing places to ski in the world but Alaska stands alone. It is the pinnacle of big mountain helicopter skiing and it will always be the gem of the ski world. Hosting numerous mountain ranges that climb from the ocean to 10,000 and beyond. The state is massive: It seems as if it was built with skiing in mind and choosing the right location is the first step to success. Across the industry you have choices: you can be on the coast but that’s where the weather hits first and clears last. Too deep and too high and you have limited snow and variable stability. The mountains dictate what we do, where we go and in order to deliver you have to stay nimble. We utilize a road system, multiple mountain ranges surrounding us on all sides and numerous distinct weather climate regions. We’ve set you up for success with endless alternatives so we can maximize our close proximity to mountains, favorable weather, stable snowpack and ranging elevation so you can enjoy your ski vacation. Undoubtedly Alaska is a big state with a ton of options. Basing in Palmer further accentuates our size. We looked for flexibility and when it comes to options Palmer provides. You have coastal ranges that extend from 6,000 to sea level or you can explore more continental options with better weather and 10,000 foot peaks. Our location gives you access and options for both. Remote towns can be hard to get to, flights can be canceled and limited options for alternate plans. You will never have a hard time getting into Anchorage and there are no secondary flights to jump on that may be weathered in. We don’t want to ask our guests to wait it out. You didn’t travel all the way to Alaska to play ping pong, watch movies or go to the bar. If you did there are better operations for you. You came to ski and ski as much as possible and that’s what we are built for. |
