The TerrainIn Alaska, the mountains dictate what we do and where we go. In order to stay nimble and keep you on the mountain, we utilize a road system with multiple mountain ranges surrounding us on all sides with numerous, distinct weather climate regions. A trip with Triple Point Expeditions gives you access to FIVE epic mountain ranges: the legendary Chugach, as well as the Talkeetna and Alaska Ranges...and on occasion, we hit up the Tordillo, Neacola, Cordova, Valdez and other zones!
Across the industry you have choices: you can be on the coast, but that’s where the weather hits first and clears last. Too deep and high and you have limited snow and variable stability. Undoubtedly, Alaska is a big state with a ton of options. Being based in Palmer further accentuates our size. We looked for flexibility and when it comes to options, Palmer provides. You have coastal ranges that extend from 6,000ft to sea level or you can explore more continental options with better weather and 10,000-foot peaks. Our location gives you access and options for both. Remote towns can be hard to get to, flights can be canceled and limited options for alternate plans. You will never have a hard time getting into Anchorage and there are no secondary flights to jump on that may be weathered in. We don’t want to ask our guests to wait it out. You didn’t travel all the way to Alaska to play ping pong, watch movies or go to the bar. If you did there are better operations for you. You came to ski and ski as much as possible and that’s what we are built for. |
